Kochie's Household Budget template

Set aside one night to clear the dining table and sit down with all your bank statements, pay slips, and major bills. Then it's just a matter of jotting down everything you spend money on. Including the morning coffee, the packs of gum. Everything.

Use the Kochie Budget Template to fill in your income, expenses, and find out where your money's going and how much you should have to put towards savings.

Download the Excel version here and get started!

Just fill in the spaces and your household budget will be ready.

Nice template :-). Only thing about this kind of types of managing budget is that it's kind of old. I think it is better to use budgeting software that can help you manage your budget and thus give you some suggestions how to improve your finances. I stumbled upon a great app and best of all it is FREE :-). It is called Home budget box www.homebudgetbox.com . Site is in silverlight and it is still in beta phase but in one month it will be fully functional and a great app to manage your finances. Great thing about it is you can categorize your expenses and incomes and thus see the full picture where your money goes. With this I saw that I need to cut down on junk food :-D.

Thank you Kochie. Because of your excel budget, my husband has finally come on board with an excel budget. I have downloaded others, but he wasn't interested until Kochie had one! The benefits of keeping track of our spending are paramount for our family. Thank you again, Marie.

This “Kochie Budget Template” at first look appears to be very useful for sure, however; what is not clear to me is the period for which this template is designed for – so what is the best way to go on about this? Should it be used as monthly or fortnightly budging template?

Kind Regars,
michael.

I wish you could put up a financial budget for pensioners, we have just the pension coming in but we are still paying our house off and we have private health insurance, funeral insurance, quite a lot of medications each month, insurances, credit cards etc. so we are just trying to keep our heads above water. Not really sure what we could get rid of to make our money go further. Thankyou Lyn.
